- 1 ½ cups of coconut oil
- ⅓ cup of olive oil
- ⅓ cup of beeswax
- 1 cup of Aloe Vera gel
- 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
- 2 tablespoons of shea butter
- Your choice of essential oils (we recommend lavender or orange)
- 1 baking sheet
- Cheesecloth
- Food processor or spice grinder
- Double boiler
- A canning jar with a lid for storage
Instructions for making canna lotion cream:
- Preheat your oven to 230 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Break up your dried buds into small pieces.
- Spread the pieces on a baking sheet.
- Bake the cannabis for 35 minutes.
- Move the cannabis every 10 minutes to ensure even baking.
- After 35 minutes, check the cannabis. It should be a light to medium brown color and has dried out. If it’s not, put it back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes. Keep an eye on to make sure it does not burn.
- When baking is complete, remove the cannabis from the baking sheet and let cool.
- Once cooled, put it in a food processor or spice grinder and pulse until the cannabis is coarsely ground.
- Mix 1 ½ cup of coconut oil and ⅓ cup of olive oil in a double boiler.
- Heat ingredients on low until they are combined, stirring continuously.
- Mix ground cannabis into the coconut/olive oil mixture.
- Continue stirring on low for 20 more minutes.
- After 20 minutes, remove from heat and pour mixture through a cheesecloth to remove excess plant matter.
- In the double boiler, heat ⅓ cup of beeswax until it becomes a liquid.
- Add the coconut oil/olive oil/cannabis mixture and stir on low until thoroughly combined.
- Once combined, remove from heat and add in 1 cup of Aloe Vera gel, 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil, 2 tablespoons of shea butter, and 1 or 2 drops of your favorite essential oil.
- Transfer the mixture into a canning jar for storage.
Application methods and desired effect:

Like most cosmetics, when applying cannabis skin cream you should avoid contact with your eyes, do not ingest, and as a safety precaution you should keep it out of reach of small children. For pain relief, determine where the pain is coming from before applying cream. For example, if you have a headache, applying cream to your neck or temples will do a better job alleviating pain than applying it directly to your forehead. We recommend applying cannabis cream to your joints and muscles such as your knees and elbows to get the strongest effect. This cream is also anti-bacterial and contains anti-inflammatory properties, which can be an effective treatment for skin problems like rashes, burns, eczema or even psoriasis.
